Macro Photography: Project 5

For each grid I combined man made, rough, textures with natural, soft, less harsh textures. I did this to get a greater contrast in textures so that the final image wouldn't be over-whelming. For each one I also gave a different color scheme, so that they wouldn't seem repetitive.

Camera Functions

To achieve the shallow depth of field in the first photo I used and f stop of 5.6 to blur the background. This helps the audiences eye focus on the object in front. In the next photo I used the f stop of 29 to obtain the deep depth of field. This makes the entire photo in focus to the audiences eyes, I also can make the photo brighter. For my freeze motion or high shutter speed shot I used the shutter speed of 1/250 seconds. By doing this it makes the individual droplets of water stand out. In the next photo you can't even see any droplets because I lowered the shutter speed to 2.5 seconds. This makes all the water appear clear or even transparent.

The first edit I increased the green hue and saturation to make the green pop and give the picture more depth, I feel like it may be subtle but it gives the photo more appeal and warmth. The second edited picture I simple unsaturated all the color to make it black or white, I don't think it does much for the photo but it does make it seem colder outside and gives each viewer their own imagination to how the photo makes them feel. The third edit I increased the tint to be pink or purple and I also decreased the temperature to make it colder, the tint makes the photo a bit more isolated than before, so on an emotional range it has a sadder look to it.

For the first edit I changed the saturation levels from 0 to 100 which by increasing the warmth makes the picture seem warmer. In the second edit I decreased the vibrance levels from 0 to -100, which didn't totally take away the color but just took a lot of the pigment out of the color. This made the photo seem faded and dry. In the last edit I converted the image to greyscale which just makes the photo black and white. This gives the photo a darker isolated feel, while also leaving room for the viewers imagination.

In this series of edits I started off by increasing the Hue and the saturation of the photo. I gave the picture a pinkish purple hue and then increased the saturation to a point that was noticeable but not overwhelming. Then in the second edit I changed the greens to more of a yellow green, this made the picture have more light and warmth. Then in the last one i desaturated everything but the purples and the green, this made the photo a bit to over exposed while also making in calmer and cooler vibe.

This last photo was taken in a dark room with a long shutter speed which is how I drew a flower. The first edit seems to have the light taken out and I did this by decreasing the photos exposure, this gives it more of the outlined silhouette. In the next edit I increased the contrast and the whites to get the brighter vibrant colors that you can see. It almost looks like I added yellow and thats what you get by just increasing the contrast and whites. Finally in the last one I increased the pink hue solely because it gave contrast and made it stand out from the other edits. This effect warms up the photo and completely changed the color of the light because it was white with very low pigment which allowed the hue to dominate the color.
